Baltimore Riots
A lot of crazy stuff going down in B-More. First St. Louis, then New York and now Charm City. All this police on black violence and murder just seems to keep happening and happening. When is it going to stop? Why does it keep happening? I don’t have the answers but it is a definite problem that needs to be looked at and addressed. The media hypes everything up saying that gangs like the Crips, Bloods and Black Guerrilla Family are targeting cops. The government calls in the National Guard. Citizens are rioting in the streets, destroying property. Is this what it takes to get justice for those murdered by law enforcement? I mean what else do you call it?
I came home and was in the halfway house right when the Michael Brown situation happened and was jumping off. I witnessed the Eric Garner situation from afar and through the media. I talked to a lot of people about both situations, friends from those areas and now this B-More thing. For real when is enough enough. I understand the anger and I am not one to tell people how to handle their business, if you are a man you got to do what you feel you need to do. But I saw this video on Facebook from Ray Lewis and I wanted to post it here. Ray Lewis, the former NFL superstar linebacker and Baltimore Raven Super Bowl Champion has made an impassioned plea to the people of his city. Everyone probably doesn’t agree with him but it has to stop somewhere. Violence only brings more violence. I don’t have the solution but more leaders like Ray Lewis need to step up and take a stand.
